Dr. Amy Horton was born and raised in Richardson, Texas. After attending Berkner High School, she graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA degree in Biology and Chemistry. While at A&M, she was an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Following graduation, she received her doctorate in dentistry from the University of Texas at Houston Dental School.
Cosmetic dentist Dr. Amy Horton continues to enjoy learning and applying cutting-edge techniques and technologies of dentistry. Due to her drive to excel in dentistry, Dr. Horton was named “Best Dentist” by
D Magazine, and has been a member of the clinical faculty at the Baylor College of Dentistry.
She is member of a monthly study group that focuses on challenging cases, and attends national conferences and continuing education courses. Dr. Horton was honored to be selected to be part of a quarterly dental implant study group that she currently attends. She is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Dallas Dental Association. With a focus on aesthetics, she has completed courses with The Hornbrook Group and The Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education, both nationally recognized organizations. The information and education she receives from these meetings help her provide the best care for her patients.
The office is a member of The Crown Council, a prestigious international organization of dental teams committed to raising the overall standard of dental care around the world. The office also participates in the Smiles for Life campaign each year working with patients who want to whiten their teeth with Zoom whitening and donate the fee to charity.
Dr. Horton has a passion for her patients. She understands that some people have a fear of coming to the dentist, and strives to overcome those fears with each and every individual. Dr. Horton believes in the lifetime care of her patients and their families.
Dr. Horton and her husband, John, live in the Old Lake Highlands area of Dallas with their daughter and two Golden Retrievers. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, running, mountain biking, snow skiing, gardening, or cooking a gourmet meal for her family and friends.
